A.D. Hughes

Mr. A.D. Hughes (Paw) of Killen, Ala., died at his residence on April 9, 2005. He served in World War II with the 565th Anti-Aircraft Battalion. He was a retired electrician and member of Atlas Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Velma Phillip Hughes, of Killen, Ala.; son, Dale Hughes, of Killen, Ala.; daughter, Nina Wallace and husband, Billy, of Killen, Ala.; brothers, Lelon Hughes, Killen, Ala., Arnold Hughes, Florence, Ala.; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; best friend in life, C.K. Smith, of Killen, Ala.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Hughes and Lura Glover Hughes; brother, Fred Hughes; sisters, Blanche Hughes and Polly Smith.
Visitation will be Monday, April 11, 2005, from 6-9 p.m. at Greenhill Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Hughes will be Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at 2 p.m., at Greenhill Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in North Carolina Cemetery, Killen, Ala.
Officiating will be Andy Hughes and Brother Steve Shelton.
Pallbearers will be Mike Hughes, Ronald Hughes, Jacob Hughes, Casey Wallace and Andy Hughes.
Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
