John was the son of William and Susie (Wilson) Boswell. He married Mary Etta Johnson and they were the parents of three children: John Richard III, Ada Sue and Patricia Ann.

GRAHAM--Mr. John Richard "Pa" Boswell, 86, of 405 Gates Ave., died at 12:45 p.m. Sunday, November 11, 2007, at the Hospice Home and Palliative Care Center of Burlington.

He was retired from Kayser-Roth and a charter member of the Faucette Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was a past Boy Scout leader in the community and was a member of Piedmont Presbyterian Church. He loved his children and all of his wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Johnson Boswell of the home; daughters, Pat Gray and husband, Hilton, of Haw River and Sue Cozart and husband, David, of Cape Carteret, N.C.; a son, John Richard Boswell II and wife, Connie, of Burlington; a sister, Sarah Shaw and husband, Worth, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Rick Boswell and wife, Holly, Kimberly Shore, Chris Cozart and wife, Charla, Misty Andrews Teague and husband, Jason, Heather Andrews Tapp and husband, Chris, and Gray Andrews; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John William Boswell and Susie Wilson Boswell; a granddaughter, Robin Boswell; three brothers; and two sisters.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at the McClure Funeral Service Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Ben Williams and the Rev. Mark Mitchell. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at McClure Funeral Service in Graham from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, and at other times at the residence.
