Mrs. Chas. Schultz of this township, died Sunday evening after a long and painful illness. The funeral services took place at the late home of the deceased yesterday afternoon, Rev. Hast officiating. We hope to give more particulars next week.

MRS. CAROLINE SCHULZ Preston Times, Preston, MN 5/14/1891
Mrs. Caroline Schulz, late wife of Chas. Schulz, was borne in Prussia, nearly 43 years ago. When 3 years old her parents immigrated to this country and settled in Manitowoc Co. Wis At age of 18 she came here in company with a brother-in-law working out in our town, in Cresco and Florenceville, Iowa. At the latter place staying with a married sister of hers, Mr. Schulz made her acquaintance. In the fall of 1870 they married. Four children were born to them, one girl, not quite 18 years old and three boys, the youngest 6 years of age.
Mrs. Schulz was of feeble health all of life-time, the last four years she suffered from liver complaints. Little Charles was very sick this spring and nursing him for a number of weeks broke down her weak constitution. When he became better, she laid down not to get up again. Sunday evening, May 3d. At eight o'clock she breathed her last. The husband, children, an aged mother, 4 brothers and sisters mourn her loss. To the funeral services on Wednesday afternoon a large concourse of relatives and friends had assembled, to pay her their last tribute of respect and to console husband and children in their bereavement. Her earthly remains were interred in the Cemetery near Wilson's crossing. Her age was 42 years, 8 months, 3 days.
