Elma Grider, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen and Katherine Grider, was born November 22, 1888, near Athensville, Ill., and died at St. Luke's hospital, St. Paul, Minnesota, November 11, 1921, at the age of 32 years 11 months and 19 days.
She was married, December 6, 1910, to Leonard l. Nichols and to this union were born two sons, Keaton and Blaine, now 7 and9 years of age. After their marriage they lived in Oklahoma, for six years and then moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, where her death occurred.
Mrs. Nichols has lived a beautiful Christian life. She has been an active worker in the Homecroft Methodist church until the past summer, when she was obliged to remain at home on account of her failing strength; but her interest kept up to the last. Although Mrs. Nichols was ready to go, she fought to the last, in hope that she could be spared to bring up her family with the same beautiful ideals that she had.
She had not been strong for the past five years, but since she had gradually failed. She had only been confined to the bed since October 17. She was taken to St> Luke's hospital November 2, where she ha a serious operation from which she lacked the physical strength to rally. She was laid to res at Roselawn Cemetery, St. Paul.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her mother, and two brothers, Fred Grider of Ada, Minn., and Glen Grider of Athensville, Illinois, the two sons, and two step-daughters Grethel; age 19, and Lucille, age 16 and a host of friends.
