NEWFANE — Mrs. Cora M. Ashton of 2765 Orchard St., was pronounced dead on arrival at Inter - Community Memorial Hospital Monday after an apparent heart attack at her home. She was 85 years old.
The daughter of Adelbert and Laura Thorne Anderson, Mrs. Ashton was born in Newfane Jan. 20, 1884. A lifetime resident of this area, she was a member of the Newfane Golden Age Club and the United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Myra Karsten of East Wilson and Mrs. Laura Haight of Youngstown; a son, E. Kenineth Stevens of Youngstown; a sister, Mrs. Nettie Mills of Buffalo, nine grandchiidren and 19 great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Leland L. Bowman of the United Methodist Church will officiate at services at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home here. Friends may call at their convenience today. Burial will be in Hartland Central Cemetery.
