Rodeo Performer Dies of Injuries in Florida
Sarasota, Fla, Feb 24 - Joseph F. Blackstone, 25 year old rodeo performer who suffered a broken neck while attempting to bulldog a steer at Fort Myers, Fla, last Wednesday, died in a hospital at Venice near here today. He had been working in Florida for the past three months. He was a native of El Campo, Tex, and his body will be sent to Andrews, Tex, for burial. Two brothers, Leroy and Vic Blackstone, were with him at the Fort Myers fair, where he was injured. They said it was his first accident in five years of steer throwing.
