Robert Leroy Messic, beloved husband of Helen Conly Hamilton Messic, died October 18, 2011, at home in West Palm Beach at the age of 98. Bob was born in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania on May 29, 1913 to George Edward and Elsie Ott Messic. He was also predeceased by his first wife, Elinor Reed Messic.
Bob owned a prominent real estate and insurance agency and was a well-known developer and builder in Central Pennsylvania, prior to becoming a full-time Palm Beach resident in 1979. He was on the State of Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission for many years. Being very civic minded, Bob served as president of several Camp Hill organizations including the PTA, and Chamber of Commerce. He donated the land for the Camp Hill Borough Hall and also for the Camp Hill Fire Company. Bob was president of his church council, a 32nd degree Mason, and served in his country's Navy in WWII. He loved the outdoors and in earlier years was an avid hunter and fisherman.
After moving to Palm Beach, Bob was a faithful member of Bethesda-By-the Sea Episcopal Church and enjoyed the Four Arts and The Everglades Club before moving to Montana.
He is survived by Helen his wife of 46 years, two daughters, Roberta Messic Faigle (Gerald) and Judith Messic Wenberg. He was also a devoted father to four children of his wife Helen, Cherlynn Hamilton Weldon, Walter Scott Hamilton, Jr. (Jennifer), Margo Hamilton Stynchcomb (Paul), and Amanda Hamilton Schumacher (Charles). He has 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brother, John M. Coombe, the last of his siblings.
Services were private for the immediate family at Bethesda-By-The Sea, Palm Beach, Florida, with inurnment in the Columbarium.
