JOSEPH BECKETT
Joseph W. Beckett, 81, of 602 Second Avenue, South Charleston, died Wednesday in Thomas Hospital after a short illness.
He was a retired South Charleston merchant and lived in that city for 54 years.
He was a member of Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Dean; a son, Cliff H. Beckett of South Charleston; a daughter, Mrs. James F. Runyan of Royal Oaks, Michigan; three brothers, John of Putnam County, Charlie of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Oliver Beckett of Hot Springs, Arkansas; a sister, Mrs. Tida Bird of St. Albans; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The body is at Snodgrass Funeral Home in South Charleston.
