Charles D. Fettig, of Bear Creek township, passed away last evening after an illness of three years. Funeral services will be held in St. Francis church at 9 a.m. Saturday with burial in St. Francis cemetery following. Mr. Fettig was born in Bear Creek township, June 9, 1890, and lived there his entire life. Surviving are: his wife; a daughter, Rosemary; four brothers, Leo, Paul, William and Wilbert Fettig, all of this region; and five sisters, Mrs. Regina Locke, of Petoskey, and Miss Anna Fettig, Miss Katherine Fettig, Mrs. Alice McDonald and Mrs. Elizabeth Pipher, all of Detroit. Mr. Fettig was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Francis Church. (The Petoskey Evening News 15 December 1938.)
