HELD AT EVERGREEN

Former Caddo Teacher
and Probation
Officer Dies


Funeral services for Dennie Franklin Turner, 60, former chief probation officer, for the juvenile court of Shreveport who died at his home near Grove, La., Tuesday night, were held Wednesday at 3 p.m. from the Evergreen Presbyterian church, with interment in the Evergreen cemetery, under the direction of the Roseneath funeral home.

Mr. Turner was a teacher in the Caddo parish schools for 24 years. He graduated from Centenary college when it was located at Jackson, La., and received his degree from Centenary here in 1924. Mr. Turner was chief probation officer of Caddo parish juvenile court, under Judge Earl Crance, and the late Judge S.C. Fullilove.

Surviving are three sons, J.S. Turner, and Allen Turner, both of Grove, and Thomas Turner of Shreveport; two daughters, Miss Mary Turner of 502 Travis street, teacher in the Queensborough grade school, and Miss Nelwyn Turner of Grove; a brother, R.L. Turner of Shreveport; a sister, Mrs. H.A. Longino of Magnolia, Ark.
