He was born in Davidson County, March 18, 1944 to Melvin Nixon Dry, Sr. and Martha Biesecker Dry. He was an avid baseball fan and loved to play the sport while his health allowed. He threw the first no hitter in Little League baseball, in Davidson County.
Surviving are; his son, Damon Dry of Lexington; one granddaughter, Makayla Dry of Lexington and his companion, Judy Snider of Denton.
