Mrs. Alva Jane Cantrell, 89, died August 2, 1971 at the Itawamba County Hospital where she had been a patient for four weeks. She lived in South Fulton. Funeral services were held August 4 in the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Mrs. Cantrell was a member of the First Baptist Church and was the widow of William A. Cantrell.
Survivors included a son, Will D. Cantrell of Fulton; a sister, Mrs. Vista Bolding of Red Bay, Alabama.
Pallbearers were Titus Harris, Cecil Whitesides, Leon Davis, Eugene Spencer, Cecil and Johnnie Har.
