Alice Elizabeth Bircher was born to the parentage of Edward & Maggie Pope in Marshall, Texas on March 23, 1918. She was one of nine siblings, all of whom has preceded her in death.
In 1940 she married Maurice Charles Bircher and to this union was blessed with three beloved children; Maurice Bircher II, James Bircher and Janice Bircher Burghardt. After the tragic death of her husband in 1951, she later briefly married.

Education & Career…

After an early graduation (age 15) from I. M. Terrell High School in Fort Worth, Texas, she finished Cosmetology School. She worked over thirty years as a licensed Psychiatric Technician at Napa State Hospital in Vallejo, C.A... She was a community activist. She established the Country Club Crest Improvement Club. She initiated and included her club and successfully boycotting the local news paper against racial profiling.
In her club she instituted help with homework, reading readiness and cooking.
Education as strong in her family, her mother was an Alumnae of Texas College in Tyler Texas. So that influence was great in the lives of her family. Her children and grandchildren have achieved educational excellence. Sunset came for Elizabeth at 8:15am, Monday, June 5, 2006. She is survived by her family, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
