Alfred's father was forester in the Varmland during the summer and shoemaker during the winter.Alfred and his siblings were orphaned as children in Sweden. Gus,the eldest son, came to America, worked hard for the railroad and in time sent for his brothers Alfred and Charles to come to America. Two other siblings had died in Sweden. A Swedish family took the boys into their home in Omaha, Neb. Alfred made his way to Wyoming eventually. There he met Mary Elizabeth Napier and they were married Jan. of 1894 in Cheyenne. In Green River they started their family. They lost their first three children to scarlet fever and diphtheria. Soon they moved to Logan, Utah where Maud was born in 1900, Mildred and in 1904 and Max was born April 9 of 1907 in a house built by Alfred. Mary and Alfred spent their final years in a small house in Sierra Madre, Ca. and with family close by. Alfred, as I remember him, was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
