Alfred B. Frick--was born Jan. 28, 1848, in Osnaburg Twp., Stark County, Ohio. The son of Abraham B. and Sarah (Kring) Frick, of South Bend, Indiana.

After marriage, Alfred cut. cleared and planted forty acres of good St. Joseph River valley bottom land next to his fathers homestead. Like his father, in time, become one of one of the most enterprising, progressive and leading agriculturists of St. Joseph County.
Alfred and Lena become parent of ten children, six sons and four daughters;
