Mr. Bethel was born in Indian Territory, Oklahoma, January 30, 1901 and died in the local Taft hospital Saturday morning.
He worked many years as a miner and worker in coal mines, in copper mines of Bisbee, Arizona, and in the potash mines of Carlsbad, N.M. After moving to Taft he worked for 13 years for Honolulu Oil Co.
His survivors include a son, a daughter, grandsons and their wives, granddaughters and their husbands, and great grandchildren.
