Funeral services for Billy Ray Corsaut were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011 in the Sien-Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Hager officiating.

Interment followed in the Ethel Reece Cemetery.

Full military rites were accorded Mr. Corsaut by the 5th District Rifle Squad.

Corsaut, age 74, of Skiatook, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 at his residence.

He was born Feb. 5, 1937 in Fairfax to Ray Charles and Sarah Ann (Dailey) Corsaut. Billy grew up and received his education in Pawhuska, graduating with the class of 1955.

He entered into the U.S. Army Aug. 17, 1955 and received his honorable discharge Aug. 15, 1958.

Billy married Edna "Joan" Townley Nov. 23, 1958 in Pawhuska where they made their home.

While in Pawhuska Billy went to work in 1959 for Woods Miller Lumber Company and after working for several years, he bought the Woods Lumber Company and then it became known as Bill's Home Center.

Billy had to retire in 2000 due to health problems that he could not overcome. Billy was a member of the Skiatook VFW and had been a member of the Assembly Of God Church in Pawhuska.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, one sister and one brother.

Billy is survived by his wife Joan of the home: two children, Billie McGowan of Elk City, and Randy Corsaut and wife Deborah of Skiatook; one sister, Eunice Carifio of Miami, Fla.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Music for the services was "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Casket escorts for the services were Josh Quillin, Jack Marino, Ted Dailey, Randy Corsaut, Ray Beets and Jeromy Bickford.

Funeral services and interment were under the direction of Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.
