2nd great pa!
Thanks for all the help in finding this family line, J Nix. It is a wonder if we have property items and comparaable unknown photos from this time frame and person being my 2nd great grandfather and I do not know where his wives are buried.God blessed me with the will, ability to keep on searching, and rest with this memorial to pass on for future common intrests.
Sorry for all the extra clutter in this search process.
This grave search is over and on to his next of kin. Thankyou photo helper Mary Ann for this find.
++++++++++++++++Atkinson Siblings:
Adoniram Judson Atkinson 1847 – 1926
Ann Haseltine Atkinson 1850 – 1910
John Henry Atkinson 1854 – 1928
Catherine J Atkinson 1860 – 1883
Emma Jane Atkinson 1863 – 1948

Basic bio with needed elements for search:
John Henry is in Henry Co, GA in 1880 and then migrates to Alabama where he died in 1928.
(John Henry was visiting his sister in Anniston when he died. He still lived in Jefferson County. A notice from the Anniston paper and a copy of the funeral home record which contained his parents' names and place of birth).

Sister's names and last location indicate which sister he visited at death in Anniston, Ala.:
Ann Hasseltine Atkinson"Strickland".1850–26Nov1910Spalding,GA.
Catherine/Catie/Chates J. Atkinson"Johnson" ..1860GA– 22Nov1881 Spalding,Henery,GA "or" ?Alabama.
Emma Jane Atkinson "Lewis"..........1863 – 1948 Columbus,Muscogee County,GA.
My guess is John died visiting his sister Emma Jane because death dates indicate she was the only one still living. He must have died on the Alabama path way to Georgia or the above record note may have been a sister in law.

Classification: Query Surnames: Atkinson, Landrum.

Parents:James G Atkinson married Elizabeth Landrum 10-8-1845 in Oglethorpe Co GA.
James's parents were Nathan Atkinson and Mary Parker.
James is listed with his parents in 1850 census in Greene Co GA .
In 1860, they are in Fulton Co GA with the last name spelled Atkins.
In 1870, Elizabeth "Adkerson" and 4 children are in Henry Co GA. The family scatters after that. According to these census records, their children are:
Adoniram Judson Atkinson, b. 1847 (Memorial# 80794989).
Ann H Atkinson, b. 1850
John Henry Atkinson, b. 1854 (Memorial#79174125).
Chates J Atkinson, b. 1860
Emma J Atkinson(Lewis), b. 1863 (Memorial# 18648233).

Adoniram Judson is in Claiborne Parish, LA in 1880 and then goes to Texas where he died in 1926(Memorial# 80794989).

Also, I am looking for the death info on James G Atkinson and his wife Elizabeth Landrum (Atkinson). She is Daughter of John Lumpkin Landrum.

.OTHER STUFF
Before the Civil War, there were several Atkinson families in Greene County, GA. Nathan Atkinson and Polly Parker had their children living with them or beside them in 1850 census.

In 1860, Isaac Parker Atkinson and his family were the only ones still in the census of Greene Co. The others are in Fulton County, listed as John Atkins and James Atkins.

In 1870, found all except Isaac in Atkinson's family.

Is it possible that they were killed during the Civil War when Gen Sherman went through Greene Co.? Is there a list somewhere of civilian casualties of the war? Just a mystery we should try to settle.

One of the Nathan Atkinson had a brother Thomas Atkinson. They both came to Greene County from Virginia after the Revolutionary War. Thomas had a son Nathan with his 2nd wife, Flora Wingfield. Nathan was born about 1790 and his will is posted in 1855. He married Polly Parker in Greene County and they are listed in the 1850 census with sons James G, Isaac, Henry, and daughters Mary and Betsy.
A lot of extra info to help keep this family line growing.
