Funeral services for James F. Young, 53, Watertown were held Thursday at the Garden City United Methodist Church with the Rev. John DeVries officiating. Burial was in the Garden City Cemetery.

A memorial service was held Wednesday evening in Watertown with the Rev. Gustav K. Van Tassel officiating. Mr. Young died Tuesday morning in an accident at Quadee Rubber Co., where he was employed as a foreman.

He was born Feb 1, 1919, at Garden City, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy E. Young. He married Esther V. Nichols Dec 18, 1940, at Rock Rapids, Iowa. He worked on road construction in the Garden City area, then he and his wife operated a grocery store in Garden City until moving to Watertown in 1965. He was a member of the Garden City Odd Fellows Lodge.

Survivors include his widow; two sons, James, Lexington, Neb., and Curtis, Omaha, Neb.; one daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Sharon) Barkley, North Platte, Neb.; his mother, Mrs. Iva Young, Watertown; two brothers, Marvin, Rapid City, and Harold, Henry, SD; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Treva) Headley, Webster, and Mrs. Milton (Geraldine) Persoon, Madison and eight grandchildren.
