Another Veteran Gone
Last Wednesday the remains of J.K. Bell, a veteran of the Civil War, were brought here for burial. His son, James Bell, sent word by telegraph, but many did not know of the coming until the train was at the station. A good number soon assembled, including a few comrades, who acted as pallbearers. Comrade Bell formerly lived here and was known as a cheerful old man and a true comrade. He had been sick for some time, and his death was not unexpected.
Rev. H.E. Brill conducted the services at the grave.
This calls for another soldier's monument and another grave to decorate.
He was laid beside his wife, who preceded him a few years.
