Lt. Robert Truetken, DSN 3318, a former Saint Louis Police Officer was commissioned on 12/01/1958. He served in the 4Th, 5Th and 9Th Districts and was the Commander of the Mobile Reserve Unit. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on 08/16/1963 and then to the rank of Lieutenant on 12/20/1964. He resigned from the department to accept the position of Chief of Police for the Florissant Police Department on 09/14/1974. He had a total of 15.79 years of service with the Saint Louis Police Department. He was awarded 2 Letters of Commendation, a 1 Department Award of Excellence. He was a veteran of the United States Army and attained the rank of Army Specialist 2Nd Class.

Beloved husband of 42 years to the late Beverly Ann Truetken (nee Kary); dear son of the late Libory H. & Marion Truetken; dear brother of Libory (Audrey) Truetken and the late James Truetken, Pauline Howell and Kathleen Green; our dear uncle, great-uncle and great-great-uncle to the many nieces and nephews of the Truetken, Howell, Green & Wrozier families; dear friend to many and including special friend to Loretta Ramshaw.

Chief Truetken was a US Army veteran during the Korean Conflict, he was active in many organizations over his career. He was a member of the Board of the USO of Missouri, K of C Duchense Counsel #2951, a Board member of the Navy League of the United States - St. Louis Counsel, Chief of the Florissant Police Department from 1974 to 1979 and and a graduate of the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA. He was a member of the founding board of the St. Louis Major Case Squad. He was a Lt. of the Mobile Reserve of the St. Louis Police Department, Chairman of the St. Louis County Security Counsel, Chief of Corporate Security at St. Lukes' Hospital for 24 years and Owner and President of True Consultants Security Company.

Services: The Stygar Family of Funeral Service is caring for Bob's family at the STYGAR FLORISSANT CHAPEL, 13980 New Halls Ferry Rd. where services will begin on Wednesday, October 26 at 9:15 a.m. then process to St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Catholic Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Bob's family respectfully request memorial donations be made to the James S. McDonnell USO, 10701 Lammert International Bld., P.O. Box 10367, St. Louis, MO 63145 or the Navy League of the United States - St. Louis Counsel, 7257 Amherst Ave. University City, MO 63130.
