RUBY LEE JONES age 83, of Fayetteville died on March 12, 2008. She was born on June 18, 1924 in Canton GA, the third of five children born to Luther O. Dickerson and Ollie Mae McCollum Dickerson. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Claude R. Jones; Sons: Fred N. Jones, Philip M. Jones & wife Jenny; Daughter: Rhonda R. Baggett & husband Stephen; Granddaughter: Ashley Taylor & husband Brian, Granddaughter: Ansley Goen & husband Cary, and Granddaughter: Amanda Jones; Grandsons: Kyle and Jamie Baggett; Great granddaughters: Ellie & Anabelle Taylor; Great grandson: Greyson Goen. She was affectionately called "Mom" and "Momma Ruby" by her loved ones. Ruby and Claude lived in College Park, GA for many years and moved to Fayetteville in 1986. She worked for several years in the cloth and fabric business and enjoyed sewing for herself and others. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother spending many hours visiting with her family. She loved to plan large family gatherings to keep the family close. God, the Church and her family were her life. Ruby's family will receive relatives and friends this Friday evening from 5 to 8 PM at Carl J. Mowell Funeral Home located at 180 Jeff Davis Drive, Fayetteville, GA 30214. The funeral and celebration of Ruby's blessed life will take place this Saturday at 11 AM at McDonough Road Baptist Church located at 352 McDonough Road, Fayetteville, GA 30214 where she was a faithful member for many years. The service will be officiated by Dr. David Chancy, Dr. J. W. Wallace and Dr. David Smith. Ruby will be interred at College Park Cemetery.
