U.S. Congressman. During World War I. he served as a Sergeant in the 4th Company, 10th Battalion, 166th Depot Brigade, U.S. Army. After the war, he was in the manufacture of brass, entered politics and served in the Connecticut State Senate, (1926-28). In 1930, he was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-first Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of James P. Glynn, was elected to the Seventy-second Congress and reelected to the Seventy-third Congress, serving until 1935. After his term, he did research work in Washington, D.C., (1935-39) and served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves. After the war, he was a distributor for Investors Diversified Services Incorporated, (1948-51).
