Mr. Traeger, a veteran of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, was a former employee of Hummer Manufacturing Co. and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1981. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, St. John's Lutheran Church in Springfield and a 50-year member of United Commercial Travelers.
Survivors: wife, Cecile; a daughter, Katharine Traeger of Sicklerville, N.J.; three brothers, Charles, Raymond and Albert Traeger, all of Springfield; two sisters, Shirley (husband, James) Ross and Evelyne Traeger, both of Springfield; six nephews; and seven nieces.
Services: St. John's Lutheran Church, the Rev. Paul Olson officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
