Both Parents Die Within Few Hours At Langlade
Mrs. John J. Cherf, Mrs. Joseph Dvorak,and Mrs. Mary Hlinak of this city received news yesterday for the death of both of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vaclav Karban, in the Town of Harrison, Langlade county, Tuesday. Mr. Karban, who was 88 died as result of a stroke of apoplexy and his wife, aged 85, succumbed to heart failure just five hours later. Mr. Karban had been in feeble health for two years and the death of her husband proved too great a shock for her to survive.
Mr. and Mrs. Karban were born in Austria and married there. Mr. Karban came to the United States forty years ago, a year before other members of his family came over. They settled in the Town of Neva and resided there until about a year ago, when they went to live with their daughter, Mrs. Vincent Jirik, in the Town of Harrison.
Surviving the departed are four daughters-Mrs. John J. Cherf, Mrs. Joe Dvorak, Mrs. Jirik and Mrs. Mary Hlinak of Manitowoc, and one son James Karbon. They also leave twenty-five grand-children and twelve great-grandchildren.
