Mae was one of two children born to Silas Dodd and Annie Whatley. Her first Marriage to Upton Sisson Poole in 1927 ended in divorce leaving her with three rug rats, Richard Benjamin Poole, Willie Mae Estelle Poole and Bessie Maurine Poole. Her second marriage was to Milton Horn Sr.in 1933,also ended in divorce leaving her with two additional rug rats, Milton Horn Jr. and Ethel Mae Horn.She was left alone to raise Five children with the only family income was what she could earn working in a sewing room.On August 7,1943 she married Cecil Rhodes Towery, an army veteran from the WWII, He was a good family man and hard worker. The entire family then farmed at Greenwood,Minter City, Sunflower and Moorehead.They later moved to Prairie Ms.where he worked as a night watchman in Aberdeen and also ran a Paper route delivering the Commercial Appeal news paper daily and Sunday issues. After Cecil's death Mae moved to Titusville Florida with her daughter and husband with whom she lived untill her death.She will be remembered as a good CHRISTIAN Lady and her Family was her Life.Every one remembers "BIG MAMA".
Funeral services were held At 11:00 AM March 18,2003 at the Titusville Church of God,2115 Knox McRae Drive Titusville Florida. Rev.L.E.Johns officiating.Services provided by Brevard Memorial Funeral Home.
