Everett W "Jiggs" Shay, Jr. 56, of Rogers City, died July 6 at his home. He was born August 14, 1943 in Rogers City to Everett and Aguida (Paradise) Shay.

Jiggs was a 1962 graduate of Rogers City High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as an Operating Room Specialist at Tripler Army Hospital on the island of Hawaii. He retired from Calcite as a ship loader on April 28 (2000).

Surviving are:
...two sons, William Shay of Rock Springs, Wyoming, and Christopher (Tanya) Shay of Rogers City;
...four grandchildren: Zachary, Levi, Christian, and Taylor;
...a sister, Diane Grulke of Rogers City; and
...a brother, Bill (Carole) Shay of Rogers City.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James.

Visitation took place Saturday at the Beck Funeral Home.

Memorial services followed the visitation at the funeral home with the Rev Harold G Molzan and the Rogers City VFW Post 607 officiating.

Interment took place at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Sunrise Shore or charity of friend's choice.
