A. Gale BLACK, 67, Fulton, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon of a heart attack
while riding in a stock truck with his son, Byron [BLACK].
Mr. Black was stricken about five miles south of Rochester on Ind. 25. A passerby, Earl
BARKMAN of Rochester, took him to Woodlawn hospital, where he was pronounced dead on
arrival at 1:30 p.m.
A life resident of the Fulton community, Mr. Black ws the son of George and Florence
HECKATHORN BLACK and was born Dec. 23, 1895. He was married in Rochesteer, Feb. 14,
1917, to Fern BEATTIE, who survives.
Mr. Black was a farmer and a member of the Logansport Eagles lodge.
Also surviving are the son, Byron, R.R. 2, Kewanna; a sister, Mrs. Sylvia HARDY, R.R.
4, Logansport; three brothers, Frank [BLACK], R.R. 6, Rochester; Albert [BLACK], Fulton, and
Eugene [BLACK], R.R. 5, Logansport.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the Ditmire-Davidson funeral home at Fulton,
where final rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Franklin ARTHUR will officiate
and burial will be in the Salem cemetery.
