Mr. T.F. Laffey died at his home east of town Friday, June 2nd. Mr. Laffey was thrown from his buggy and seriously hurt three weeks ago, and since then has been paralyzed. The entire community sympathize with the family in their sorrow. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, June 7, 1911)

Mr. T.F. Laffy [Thomas Francis Laffey] died at his home east of town Friday night, June 2. Mr. Laffy was thrown from his buggy three weeks ago and was seriously hurt. He has been paralyzed since that time. All that medical skill and good care could do was done, but it seemed to be God’s will that he should go. He leaves a wife and two children besides an aged mother and a number of brothers and sisters to mourn his loss. The funeral was held at the Catholic church in Armstrong Monday, June 5, and interment made in the Catholic cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, June 14, 1911)
