US Congressman. He was a member of the George State house of representatives from 1833 to 1834. He became a judge for the Georgia superior court for four years starting in 1838. In 1849, he was elected to a term as a Representative from Georgia in the United States House of Representatives. After leaving office, he became an ordained Baptist minister and continued in the ministry for the remainder of his life.
