Sam was a salesman for the Mosler Safe Company and had all of the western United States as his territory. He met his first wife Daisy in Denver and her father said that if he wanted to marry his daughter, he had to stop being a traveling salesman. So, he opened a furniture store in Akron, Ohio. Eventually he had 3 stores. One was called the People's Outfitters Company and one was called The Dodge Company. He and Daisy would eventually move to St. Louis, Missouri.
Nancy, the granddaughter of Samuel Jacob's 2nd wife Jeanette, remembers that Mr. Jacobs smoked cigars.
Mr. Jacobs was cremated at Oak Grove Cemetery, Normandy, Missouri. His cremains are interred with his first wife Daisy Weil Jacobs at the Fairmont Mausoleum, Denver, Colorado.
Daisy and Sam Jacobs were married on June 21, 1905.
