He came to live in Michigan when a boy of eleven years residing on a farm in Leroy township when a young man he moved to Climax where he engaged in the feed mill, threshing and saw mill business.
In 1886 he was united in marriage to Hattie A. Huller, To this union three children were born, Bernice E. now residing in Chicago, Illinois, Veda M. of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Georgia A. of Battle Creek, Michigan. He leaves to morn his loss a widow, three children, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
During 35 years of active work in Climax he too great interest in any work that was for the good of the community. He was a member of Climax Lodge No. 59, F. & A. M.
In 1916 the family moved to Kalamazoo where they resided for four years. During this time Mr. York was baptized and joined the first M. E. church of Kalamazoo.
The last ten years of his life were spent in Galesburg, Mich., where he enjoyed his home and many pleasant associations.
The funeral services were held at the Climax M.E. church at 2:30 Friday p. m. with the Rev. Manning of Galesburg officiating. Interment was made in Prairie Home Cemetery. Climax Crescent September 4, 1931 page 1
