A well known farmer from the Bow Island District, Elmer Bryan Culler, passed away in the Bow Island General Hospital on Tuesday, May 3, 1977, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Culler was born in Warner, Alberta on July 13th, 1915. He was raised in the same area and after receiving his education, which included a period at the Olds Agricultural School, he established a farming operation near Warner. In 1956 he purchased farm land in the Bow Island District, where he resided until his passing. He was married to the former Jean Buchanan on May 16th, 1957. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Richard of Raymond, Dwight of Keswick, Ontario and David of Lethbridge; one daughter, Marlene (Homulos) of Westbank, British Columbia; seven grandchildren; one brother, Albert of Milk River and one sister, Gladys (Soice) of Lethbridge. He was predeceased by two brothers, Marvin and Herb Culler, and one sister, Mae (Woitte). Mr. Culler was a member of Loins International, beginning as a charter member of the Warner Club in 1944 and later transferring to Bow Island. Funeral services will be held from St. Andrew's United Church at Bow Island on Thursday, May 5th at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Oliver R. Hodge, assisted by Pastor David Shoop of the Full Gospel Church in Burdett, officiating. Pallbearers will include, Ken Culler, Raymond Culler, Herb Culler, Clayton Soice, Garry Johnson and Bob Hutchinson. Honorary pallbearers are Carl Bondy, Herb Kuehn, Jake Liebelt, Ormand Mitchell, William Egan, Alberta Angle, Emil Winter, George Nixdorf, John Tofin and Burrill Williams. Interment will follow in the Bow Island Cemetery with Pattison's Funeral Home from Medicine Hat in charge of arrangements.
