On October 26, 2011 we said our last goodbyes to our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and father-in-law. Robert "Bob" Grant McMorris, Sr. was born to Peter McMorris and Irene Nunez in Yuma, AZ on July 14, 1931.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and served as a City of Yuma firefighter for over 7 years. He was also a charter member of the United Yuma Firefighters Association, Local 1234.
For over 35 years he was a licensed general contractor and owner of McMorris Construction Company, who built homes and apartments primarily in the Imperial Valley, CA. We will remember his intelligence, great wit, sense of humor and love for his family, for whom he created a beach house south of Ensenada, B.C., which, for over 40 years, has been a destination for countless vacations and special family memories.
He is survived by his wife, Amelia "Chuchi" McMorris, sons Michael, Robert Jr. (Denise) and Pete (Judy), and special caregiver, Lupe Soto. Grandchildren Nicole, Dennis, Kelly, Danielle, Patrick, Janelle, and great grandchildren Alexus, Courtney, Kristin, Christopher, Anthony and Brianna will all miss their "Grandpa" and "Honey".
In lieu of flowers please donate to Hospice of Yuma. Arrangements are entrusted to Johnson Mortuary and Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 1415 First Ave, Yuma, AZ 85364, with services to be held on October 29, 2011 at 9 a.m.
