Fred Wehausen is here from Maplewood to attend the funeral of his cousin, the late John Ewald, which was held today at Newton. Mr. Ewald died at the home of his son, Adolph, at Rapids at the age of 71 years. He was a native of Germany, born Nov. 5, 1844 and came here as a young man _____and made his home on a farm at ___________

Notes from Manitowoc Rapids:
John Ewald died at the home of his son, Adolph, Friday morning, aged 71 years.
He was born in Germany and when a child came to this country with his parents.
During the greater part of his life he lived on a farm here. Besides his aged
wife, he is survived by four sons, Henry, who conducts a general merchandise
store at Haven, Ferdinand, Adolph and Herman, all of whom live on farms in
this county.
The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon.
