LONG ILLNESS CLAIMS LIFE OF MRS. EWALD
Mrs. Margaret Ewald, widow of John Ewald and a native of the town of Newton,
died at the home of her son Adolph Ewald at Rapids yesterday afternoon, aged 73,
death being due to infirmities of age. Mrs. Ewald had been failing for two years
and for some time her decline had been rapid. The funeral will be held Friday
afternoon at 1:30 from the home ofAdolph Ewald at Rapids and burial will be at
the Newton cemetery.
Mrs. Ewald was born in Newton January 1, seventy-three years ago as Margaret Meyer
and had spent her entire life in Manitowoc county. Her husband died nine years ago
and she had since made her home with her son at Rapids. Three sons, Henry, of Haven,
Adolph and Ferdinand at Rapids, survive with one brother, William Meyer, this city
and a sister, Mrs. Henry Carstens at Brillion. There are twelve grandchildren
surviving.
