DOB, per private headstone, is March 10, 1843. He enlisted as a private in Co. C, 102nd OVI, on August 5, 1862, at age 19. Was discharged with a Surgeon's Certificate of Disability on April 3, 1863. He and is brother Samuel were killed acting as vigilantes while chasing a suspected outlaw in Chaffee County, Colorado Territory.
