Mario (Buffy) Rodriguez was the type of guy that accepted you for who you were. By all means he was no stranger to the streets of Chicago's South Side (Mainly 18th Street) but at his age he gained the respect of everyone. I didn't care that he was a gang member to me he was a great and respectful guy. He hung out with the guys to "have a family" not to be a trouble maker. Thank God he wasn't. I remember his grandmother would come to were I was working at the time (Saxon's paint store on Homan and 26th Street). And she just loved hearing stories of her Buffy. She was a charactor who loved her grandson a whole lot. Unfortunately, the side of life he choose was also the side that ended his short life. I truly miss him for he was the one who I considered a really good guy. He had all the respect in the world for me and challenged anyone who had something to say about it. He knows what I mean by that. I miss you Buff even after ALL these years. You will always remain young thanks to a tragic end that gave you eternal peace. Much love papa.

Much Thanks to MWO for helping me to get a photo of "Buffie's" headstone. It means a whole lot.
