Dorothy May Neumann, age 85, long-time resident of Willis, MI, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Heartland Healthcare Center, Ann Arbor, MI. She was born October 1, 1926 in Romulus, MI, daughter of the late Henry Christian & Marion Molly (Lindemann) Reinhold.
She was a member of Stony Creek United Methodist Church and Farm Bureau. Dorothy was also a Girl Scout Leader for many years. She enjoyed reading, cooking and doing arts & crafts. She was also well-known for her cake decorating, having made numerous wedding, anniversary and birthday cakes. Most of all she loved spending time with kids and family.
Dorothy is survived by a daughter Barb (Daniel) Makarewich of Willis, MI, a granddaughter Bekah Makarewich, six siblings Donald Reinhold of Trenton, MI, Douglas Reinhold of MI, Dennis "Barney" (Janet) Reinhold of Livonia, MI, Delbert Reinhold of Willis, MI, Doris Muck of Flat Rock, MI and Dale Reinhold of New York, also numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special nephew Danny Muck, a special great-nephew Joey Banas, a special niece Diane Sawicki, also a very special dear friend Betty Viterna. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank Neumann on June 8, 2002, also a brother-in-law Leonard Neumann.
Dorothy's family would like to extend sincere thanks to the Heartland staff for the wonderful care they gave Dorothy and their family. They would also like to thank Pastor Reed Swanson and Peter Freedman Doan for their spiritual support and guidance.
Visitation will be 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM Sunday, and Monday 10-11 AM with an 11 AM Funeral at David C. Brown Funeral Home, Belleville. Pastor Reed Swanson will officiate. Interment will be in Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock, MI.
