Freelove Angell Burlingame is the Granddaughter of Revolutionary War hero, Colonel Israel Angell of the 2nd Rhode Island regiment and author of,"Diary of Colonel Israel Angell" a collection of his diary entries during the war from 1777 to 1781 including the winter at Valley Forge.

She is also the mother of the Honorable Anson Burlingame, Congressman from Massachusetts, then appointed Minister to China by Abraham Lincoln on June 14, 1861

The great theologian and founder of Providence Plantations Roger Williams (1602-1683) was her 4th great-grandfather.
