Ruth was born in Ironwood, MI, on June 24, 1928, the daughter of Walter and Elina Maki Hendrickson. She married Gust Abelson in 1946 in Hurley, WI. Ruth was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Ironwood.
Survivors include her husband, Gust; daughter Carol (David) Engstrom of Belvidere; son Dennis (Kathy) Abelson of Dexter, MO; sister Arlene Bjorne; and brothers Kenneth, Dale, and Robbie Hendrickson; several grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
