B. P. Kidd was born in [sic] Johnston county, Arkansas, February 24, 1847 and died at Hydro, Oklahoma January 8, 1928 aged 80 years, 10 months, and 14 days.
He was united in marriage to Martha Mauldin in 1860. This union was blessed with 13 children, 11 of whom survive. The deceased was one of a very few of the people of our community who served in the Civil War, he having served under the banner of the Confederacy.
Earlier in life he was converted and joined the Methodist church, being a member of that church at Denver, Oklahoma at the time of his death.
The surviving sons are Jim, [sic] Less, Chester, Jeff, and Orman of Hydro, [sic] Marven of Norman, and Perry of California. The daughters are Mrs. Etta Reynolds of El Reno, Mrs. [sic] Ophalia Coterill, Mrs. [sic] Denia Scott and Mrs. Ova Folks all of Hydro.
There are also forty-eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A good man, a loyal citizen, a loving father has gone home.
The funeral was held at the M. E. church Tuesday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. W. R. Stuemky. Mr. Kidd had a great many friends who sorrow with the family at his death.
Those from out of town who came to attend the funeral were {all names [sic]} Mrs. Lue Malden, Mr. and Mrs. Malden, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Malden, all of Noble, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Reynolds of El Reno;, Marvin Kidd of Norman, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Duckett of Fay, Roy Kidd and Bill Scott of Oklahoma City, and Dr. and Mrs. Gaymon of Butler.
