Marie Alice Abbott Walter, 100, formerly of 110 Skyland Circle, widow of Charles P. Walter, died July 2, 2004, at National Health Care of Mauldin.

A native of England, she was the daughter of the late Arthur John and Alice Davis Abbott, she was a homemaker and member of Home Moravian Church in Winston Salem, N.C.

Surviving are two daughters, Jean W. DeHart, of Greer and Barbara W. Haitz, of Greensboro, N.C.; one sister, Ethel McGowen, of Lincoln, Neb.; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at The Wood Mortuary conducted by the Rev. Terry Greene. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Keith Lawton, Chris Lawton, Rick DeHart, Curtis DeHart, James Haitz and Jamie Haitz.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Monday prior to the service.

The family is at the home of daughter, Jean DeHart, 110 Skyland Circle, Greer.

Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Building Fund, 4899 Jordan Road, Greer, SC 29651; or First Moravian Church Building Fund, 304 S. Elam Ave., Greensboro, NC. 27403.
