John W. Kay
John W. Kay, 83, of 574 W. Van Buren St., died Sunday evening in a local hospital where he had been a patient two days. He had been ill three years. He was born Aug. 24, 1882 in Climax, a son of John and Mary Kay. 'He was married to Eva Roe Aug. 24, 1905, in Kalamazoo. She died in February 1920. On April 17, 1938. he was married to Eva Jackson. Mr. Kay was a 28-year employe of the Kellogg Co., retiring 17 years ago. He was a life member of Climax Lodge. F&AM, and a member of the Kellogg 25-year Club. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter. Miss Helen Kay of Coldwater: three step-children; Mrs. William (Maryel) Carpenter of Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Carl (Dorothy) Houser of Centerline; Robert Jackson of 146 Dundee Drive; five step-grandchildren; four step-greatgrandchildren, and a brother, George Kay of 106 Frelinghuysen Ave. Battle Creek Enquirer April1, 1968 page 22
