Sarah F. Briggs was born the daughter of Daniel Briggs and Rhoda Larrabee, in Winthrop, Kennebec, Maine, on the 28th of August, 1811.
She was united in marriage to Zenas Gifford on November 21, 1834. This union was blessed with the following children: Louisa, Ezra, Mary B., Hannah S., Alfred, Albert, Benjamin, and Prince B. Gifford. Sarah's husband, Zenas was taken home in February of 1876.
After the death of Zenas, Sarah was found in the June, 1880, Census living in Lynn, Jasper, Iowa with her son Prince B. Gifford, and his family.
