Born in Paulsboro, he lived in Mount Royal for 55 years. He was a pipe fitter for Mobil Oil Corp. in Greenwich Township for 41 years, retiring in 1970.
He was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Clarksboro and a member of Paulsboro-Swedesboro Lodge No. 157, Free and Accepted Masons, in Paulsboro.
Surviving are his wife, Angelina "Lillian" Askin; a son, Walter A. of Mount Royal; a sister, Helen Sowers of Merchantville; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 302 Kings Highway, Clarksboro. There will be no viewing.
