Thomas was raised in Green Valley IL. After the Cvil War, he married and had at least 6 children, 3 daughters would survive to marry and raise families.

After the death of Louvisa, he would marry twice more. He was married to Caroline at the time of his death.

Thomas and Caroline lived for a time in Pekin IL, 15 miles from Green Valley. He was a successful business man, his barber shop was located downtown Pekin. They moved to Ohio around the turn of the century.

Thomas and Caroline were living in Tampa Florida when his health failed. In the fall of 1924 he was admitted to the VA hospital in Hampton Virginia. He would die in the spring of the next year.

It was his wish to be brought home to Green Valley and be buried next to his first love Louvisa and their children that he buried so many years before.

FORMER RESIDENT OF PEKIN DIES IN SOUTH

Thomas B Holt, a former resident of this city, died April 5th, in Hampton,Virginia hospital. His body will be shipped to Green Valley, Ill for burial, the time of funeral services being announce later.

Mr Holt was born in Knox County Ohio October 12, 1842. He was thrice married and is survived by his present wife, two daughters. Mrs James Brink Valier Montana and Mrs Whitney Latham 1113 South Capital Street, Pekin, 7 grandchildren and 2 greatgrandchildren.

Mr Holt followed the profession of barber for years while a resident of this city, conducting a shop in the Freiderich building in one of the rooms now occupied by the Central Illinois Light Company. He left this city some 34 years ago. At the time of his death he was a resident of Tampa, Florida, but had gone to the Hampton VA hospital for treament.
