Betty Jean Callands Banson of 1921 Pansy Street, departed this life Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born June 2, 1944, in Lynchburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eppie and Bessie Callands; two sisters, Pauline Turpin and Christine Tinsley; three brothers, Samuel, Frank and Clarence Callands.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, Charles Banson; one daughter, Anita Anderson, both of New Jersey; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren all of New Jersey; two sisters, Odell Gilbert and Lillie Toler (Charles); one brother, Eppie Nathaniel Callands, all of Lynchburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, at Community Funeral Home Chapel, with interment in the Baptist Cemetery.
