Mr. Walden was born the son of William Jesse and Lucinda Lois (Sweetland) Walden.
He was a Hydro operator at ADM. He was a member of Parkway Church of the Nazarene, an avid hunter and was a good worker. He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

He married Lois M. Pfeifer on February 19, 1955. Surviving are his wife of Oakley, children; Cathy Skow and husband James of Decatur, James D. Walden and wife Theresa of Decatur, Scott L. Walden of Decatur, and Annette Havener of Decatur, brothers: Carl Blankenship of Long Creek, Darrell Blankenship of Decatur, and Dale Blankenship and wife Patricia of Vandalia, sisters: Nancy Leslie and husband James of Decatur, Wanda Marie of Long Creek, and Bonitta Leslie of Hammond, grandchildren: Cristy Lynn Patrick and husband Tim, Melissa Walden, Matthew Walden and wife Elizabeth, Bradley Bullock, Holly Walden, Lindsee Havener, Kacey Havener, Jason Walden, and Cody Havener, step grandchildren : Jason Skow, Justin Skow, and Jenny Skow, and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and two brothers.
