Richard D. Rotundo, 66, of Ogdensburg, but formerly of Gouverneur, passed away on Tuesday, November 01, 2011 at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg.
Calling hours will be on Saturday, November 5, 2011 from 11:00-1:00 at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor James Meola officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Gouverneur.
Richard was born on June 22, 1945 in Gouverneur, NY to Arthur E. and Lesa (Pistolesi) Rotundo. He graduated from Gouverneur Central School in 1964 and went on and attended Bryant & Stratton in Buffalo, NY for business. He married Adrianne B. Wachowski on March 10, 1965. Dick was self owned and operated Rotundo's Used Cars for 30 years, retiring in 1996. He had previously worked for his father at Central Garage in Gouverneur. He and his wife also had owned and operated Eagle Hotel in Philadelphia, NY.
Dick enjoyed spending time at Bear Pond. He also enjoyed going to High Falls Hunting Club in Malone with his family, along with repairing and selling cars. He collected many deer carvings.
He is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Roxanne D. and Arthur Todd and Rechelle D. and Douglas Koerick; a son and his wife, Richard D. and Erin Rotundo; a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Frederick Dunkelburg all of Gouverneur; a sister-in-law, Louise Rotundo of Palm Bay, FL; 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Dick is predeceased by his parents and his brother, J. Robert Rotundo.
